I have been working with the Seattle Repertory Theater since 2017 documenting the Public Works Seattle program. It is an amazing program that allows the Seattle Rep to partner with organizations in the community to host artistic workshops on acting, writing, and theater production. The Seattle Rep also hosts these communities at the theater to see shows and have unique experiences with cast, crew, community members. There signature event is an annual full-scale production where community members are auditioned, cast, and given the opportunity to go through an intensive 10 week experience to bring the play to the stage standing alongside professional actors, crew, and artistic teams from the Seattle Rep. It is a one of a kind experience that I have been honored tp document since its inception here at the Seattle Rep.
The project that I am currently working on is to create digital stories that can explore the amazing people that have been a part of this program. One of the most impactful things that I have taken from this experience has been the stories that I have shared with everyone in the program, and I hope that through a collection of vignettes, written stories, and images we can capture the essence of this program and allow everyone to feel like they are a part of the family.
